When is the best time to have the flu vaccine?
Early autumn is ideal, before flu starts circulating widely, but vaccination remains worthwhile throughout the winter season.
Can the flu vaccine give me flu?
No. The injected vaccine contains no live virus. A mild sore arm or short-lived aches are signs of your immune system responding, not flu.
Why do I need a flu vaccine every year?
Flu viruses change constantly, and protection fades over time. Each season the vaccine is updated to match the expected strains.
Can I have the flu vaccine with other vaccines?
Yes. It can be given alongside most other vaccines, including shingles and travel vaccines, at the same appointment.
